The assessment

Before your session begins, your Therapist will ask a few quick questions about your mobility, health history, and personal goals—so we can tailor your stretch experience to exactly what you need.

We’ll begin with a gentle fascia warm-up, targeting the connective tissue that supports your muscles and joints. This helps prepare your body and allows your therapist to assess your movement patterns, flexibility, and any areas of restriction.

From there, we’ll customise the approach to ensure the most effective, results-driven stretch—just for you.

THE INTENSITY LEVEL

At Dr. Stretch, we know everyone experiences stretching differently. To help you communicate how a stretch feels, we use a simple and effective 3•5•7 scale during your session:

🔹 3 – Mild: Just beginning to feel the stretch
🔹 5 – Moderate: A comfortable, steady stretch
🔹 7 – Sweet Spot: Your maximum stretch without pain

FULL BODY ASSISTED STRETCHING

You may feel tension or discomfort in one specific area—but the root cause often lies elsewhere. That’s why we recommend starting with a full body assisted stretch during your first session.

Our therapists will take a whole-body approach to assess how you move, identify imbalances, and determine what will deliver the best results for your unique needs.

Find out: how to increase hip mobility

  • Stretch Therapy is generally safe for most people. However, if you have a specific medical condition, it's best to consult with your healthcare provider before starting any new therapy. Our therapists at Dr. Stretch can also provide guidance based on your individual health needs.

  • Runners often feel their hips are tight. PNF assisted stretching will work on releasing that tension and easing any pain as well as helping to realign the body which can often cause the hip pain.

It’s important to note that hip pain doesn’t always originate in the hip. It can come from the feet, calves, knees, lower back for example so we work on all areas to release this and you’ll be able to visibly see as well as feel the difference in your body with regular sessions, helping you run pain-free for the long term.
