Our mission has been to create a safe, supportive space for women to build strength, confidence, and lifting skills. We're evidence-based coaches who promote holistic progress beyond sweat and weight loss. What is “Lifting Ladies”?

We are proud to be the first 4:1 small women strength training group in Islington. You can expect an hour of exercise led by a coach who is passionate about challenging you to reach your fitness goals and educating you about your health.

Our values is built on what we cherish: encouraging and empowering women to move, find happiness, prioritise their health and get stronger though strength training and great support from a female community.

We were 1:1 PTs ourselves. Neither of us had done group training before and if we are really honest, we doubted that it was any good.

When we thought about classes & group training we thought Barry's, F45, Crossfit.

Gymbox or One Rebel group sessions were full to the brim heaving sessions where form wasn't addressed, progress wasn't tracked & reps were shouted across the room.

Which no shade😩 just wasn't our jam.

We wanted our clients to gain strength, make tangible progress, have silly chat and make friends. Listen to Taylor Swift over deep house. Have an evidence based program coached by coaches that coached well

So when we started thinking about what we could offer we knew it had to be better than what we were currently doing and what was currently out there on offer.

Lifting ladies monthly community meet up

At Lifting Ladies, we organise monthly meet ups that enable the ladies to have a chance to get to know each other. We built each event on the values that we cherish: encouraging and empowering our ladies to connect.

At our meet up, it is all about embracing every aspect of life, and health, especially the fun stuff that often gets overlooked like– joy, connection, and even a bit of silliness. We want to share our belief that being healthy is about so much more than just working out; it's about truly living and lifting each other up.

We'll explore wellness as a journey of curiosity and self-discovery, not just a focus on physical fitness. We'll challenge preconceived notions and show you that health isn't just about how much protein you can eat in one sitting. It's about mindset over macros!

    We strategically incorporate various sets and rep ranges to optimise your strength and muscle growth.

  • While we don't push weight loss goals, we can support you in reaching them sustainably if it's something you desire.

    At Lifting Ladies, we take an anti-diet culture stance, promoting a holistic approach to well-being rather than quick fixes.

    Unlike "12-week shreds" or "weight loss challenges," our personalised plans are designed to set you up for long-term success, not failure.

    We collaborate with you to develop an individualised action plan that includes mindset work, nutrition guidance, and improving your relationship with food and your body.

  • Absolutely not! You don't need any prior weightlifting experience or a certain fitness level to join us.

    Our training is designed to be adaptable, accommodating everyone from absolute beginners to intermediate level lifters.

Why women should prioritise strength training to improve their health?

Women Strength Training Timetable

If you are allocated a space from the waitlist you can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the class without being charged.

Please ensure you can make the class before you join the waitlist as you will be automatically charged upon being allocated a space. If you can no longer make the class you can remove yourself from the waitlist up to 24 hours in advance.

  • This is a great idea if you want to have trial a session before purchasing a package or commit to our monthly membership, so you can determine whether we are a good fit.

    Hi my name is Trang! Like many women, I started my fitness journey as a ‘cardio class, cash diet and carb-cutting down’.

    I found strength training 9 years ago and haven’t looked back! I started coaching to help women build confidence and find the freedom to live a balanced lifestyle. I’m all about people enjoying the exercise they do and encouraging important fundamentals, like strength training and compassion!

    Hi, I’m Agnes, i’ve been a coach for a few years now. In my sessions, I like to focus on technique and having fun. I like clients to feel encouraged, confident and listened to. My ethos when It comes to adding weight is… if you are asking you already know the answer.

    Overall I want you to listen and to understand your body in the session and to know that it is a mind-body connection we are striving for. Oh and of course lifting like pros!

Prenatal and Postnatal Fitness at Lifting Ladies

We are open to all women and it’s perfect also for women who want to maintain their fitness levels before, during and after giving birth.

    Strength training during pregnancy is a great approach to help your body adjust to the changes you're going through.

    Working in a small group so we have worked with many pregnant women from the very first weeks of their pregnancies all the way up until the last few days before giving birth, just as Trang did.
